  • YARD ART

Garde Rail Gallery turns 3 in June and celebrates with "YARD ART", a group show of art found in the yard or for the yard. Birdhouses, whirligigs, carvings, and more created by folk artists from the Deep South, Midwest, and Northwest.

Opening celebration, Friday June 1, 6pm-9pm, outdoors in the Garde Rail Yard.

Part of Columbia City's First Friday Beat Walk.

Many artists have been discovered while driving along the rural highways of America, due to the art that fills their yards. Out of the house, onto the porch, into the yard and out to the guardrail, their visions become unstoppable obsessions that we are only so lucky to see. From paintings on tin to carefully crafted birdhouses and carved animals, the scope of work is as varied as the regions and the people that produce it.

Artists to include R. A. Miller, Minnie Adkins, Ivan Laycock, Buddy Snipes, Tom D., and more.
