Scattered, Smothered & Covered!

A healthy helping of folk art from the Deep South and midwest, "Scattered, Smothered & Covered" is a group show of self-taught, folk, and outsider artists from Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Florida, Ohio and Michigan. On show will be recent acquisitions from owners Karen & Marcus Pina's recent trips down south, including work by Donna Collins, Tom D., Jimmy Lee Sudduth, Reginald Mitchell, James "Buddy" Snipes, and many more.
Show opens Friday December 1 in our Columbia City home.
Opening party, 6 til 10 pm.

An exciting new discovery from our last trip down south is Alabama artist Suzy Odom. Her small wood and glass boxes are a delight. "These are my crazy family," she exclaims with pride. Old photos from the 50's and 60's are cased in glass and surrounded by writing and objects such as toothpicks ("Toothpick King"), and peanuts. Full of humour and a hint of kitsch, we are thrilled to be able to show Suzy's work.
