"Japanese carrier, sunk at Midway, WWII. Sometimes when I build a ship I will inadvertently create a hollow cavity between the decks. I put a 1941 Jefferson nickel inside this one (my grandmother in-law found these and gave them to me). I've mentioned how Confederate ships were interesting becasue they were often made of leftover's - Japanese ships of WWII are somewhat the same - especially the aircraft carriers. Usually they used the bottom of an older battleship or cruiser and mounted a flat-top for planes over the original structure. The 'integration' of elements is cruder than the American carriers. They say that on Guadalcanal, shrapnel from Japanese shells often contained American nuts and bolts - it infuriated the Marines." Note tiny Japanese planes on the flight deck.
