One mission of the WPA was to socialize art, remove it from an elite status, and make it available to ordinary citizens through widely available etchings and silkscreen prints, murals in public places, educational dioramas, plaster architectural models, and even dolls. References to the WPA are now slightly back in vogue due to present economic conditions, although it has been distinctly out-of-favor, even reviled, for more than 60 years.
