United States Shipping Board chartered her to Los Angeles Steamship Company, LASSCO, June 1922, she was upgraded and renamed S.S. CITY OF LOS ANGELES. In 1922 began regular Los Angeles - Hawaii service, where she proved to be a popular ship, carrying Hollywood Stars and Business leaders.
