Born in 1943, Gainesville, Florida, artist Alyne Harris paints on canvas and paper. As a child, Alyne would paint in the mud, often playing in cemeteries, surrounded by spirits and "haints". Working by day, Alyne stays up late into the night, using liberal amounts of acrylic paint to create church scenes, angels and devils, and scenes of her rural surroundings. Her work is included in many private and public collections.
